I've been a Peter fan since 1993. I saw play at a club in New Jersy called "The Shak." My friend, Chris dragged me there. I thaught "What am i gonna do at some goofy rock concert?" After that concert i was changed for life. I am for ever in dept to Chris...and Peter.

I have heard about the rumor to...I think it's true

I've been listening to Peter's music for 15 years - I had read an article about Gematria, and when I went to go buy it, I ended up buying a copy of This Father's Day on vinyl - a promo copy no less. I bought Gematria soon thereater and fell in love. To this day, I love that CD.

I've been a Peter fan since the Sussman Lawrence days in Minneapolis. Although back then it was hard to see him live since most of the shows were at bars (First Avenue and such) and I was underage.

Good to see activity on the board again, it was dead for a few months there!

I wa introduced to Peter's music when I was 18, waaaay back in 1994. My boyfriend at the time played a CD (Skin, which was brand-spanking new at the time) on our second date and I really liked it. Our third date was a PH concert at the MN zoo, so I was exposed to the whole concert experience VERY early on in my PH listening days.

Haven't seen or heard from said BF in quite a few years, I hope that things are fine with him. Since those days, I've married and been to quite a few concerts with my husband, who has been converted.

AND last summer I got to go to a concert with Ellen! Michele and her husband Jim, too! It was the total hightlight of my summer, such a good time.

I became a fan in the summer of 1989. That summer I saw Peter play on Harriet Island (I think). The family I was a nanny for brought me there. Every friend I take to a Peter concert ends up being a life long fan. I've been to about 3 concerts my self. Gutherie Theater, Chicago (Park West), and Madison, WI (Club Tavern).

I too have been a fan over ten years. I guess it would be since I first heard 11th Confession...that song just hooked me. Then one day I drove to a distant record store and bought both This Fathers Day and Gematria. Life has never been the same since.

Back atcha, Becca and Ellen! Best show I've ever seen! :-)

Call me “Tommy come lately”
Unfortunately, I was unaware of his Spring 1999 concert at the JCC here in West Palm Beach.
I “discovered” PH in the Summer of 1999.
Amazon.com posted “Holding Diamonds” and “New America” on their web site and I was hooked (as a fisherman would say).
Even though I have never seen a live performance, I probably have more of his recordings than anyone (except maybe Ellen, Sean, and the artist).
I am willing to share my CDs with you as long as the artist’s royalties are not violated.
Here is my list
Pick 5 non-commercial CDs and I will mail a copy of them to you ASAP
(Don’t forget to give me your address)

At least 9 years.

I've only been to two of his shows. Shows because he doesn't just do a "concert" he PERFORMS. Peter is one of the few entertainers.

I was lucky enough to meet the devoted Ellen at his last show in San Francisco.

That San Fran show was outstanding!! Peter had been reading The Odyssey that day and it completely infiltrated his vocabulary. I don't remember everything he said, but I remember him saying: "Let's jubilate!"

Meanwhile - I just went back to my site to read the review I wrote of that show, nd this is what I said: [Peter] wanted to extend the Odyssey to the stage, so he thought we could have some "pillows here, slaughter some calves, and drink libations to Agamemnon!" That's like SUCH a Peter thing to do! : )

Didn't you mention that you met me? Could tell it was me because I was 6 inches off the ground the entire evening I met a few chatters there.

That was the show that he sang "This too will pass" to me. I play a copy it for my son now. He says it's from when I went to "Peter's House" *laugh*

The show that never ended. It was officially over about three times. Still plays on for me. Hopefully, we'll see each other again in front of Peter's stage.

My first year in grad school in Madison. I wanted to see Shona Liang performing at the Union Theater. I couldn't convince any of my new grad school friends to go with me. (They weren't as hip as I am.) Finally, I BEGGED my friend Geoff and said I'd pay for his ticket. He was in. Peter and the band opened the show. It was the most amazing performance I had ever seen. Geoff and I watched in awe. When it was over, we both turned to each other and said it the greatest musical performance we each had ever seen. The next day I immediately went to my local record store and bought 3 cd's. (All they had.) Geoff and I both became fans (though only I became the kinda-crazy, almost obsessed variety), seeing him whenever he was in town. We even appear in his With You video filmed in Madison.

So, I started school in Madison in 1991, that would make me a fan of almost...

12 years!

In my Madison days, I used to offer refunds on Peter tickets to any friends I brought to the show who didn't enjoy it. Of course, I never paid out a nickel. I brought several new fans into the fold. If my day job doesn't work out, I should join a mission.

Since then, I've moved to RI. A land devoid of live Peter shows. I might as well be missing a limb. But, Geoff has also found his way to the east coast, and we're still friends. I also have you guys! The first time I found this site, it was great! I though I was the only kinda-crazy almost obsessed type Peter fan. But look! There is a whole slew of you! Fantastic!

And I thought I had a complete Peter cd collection, but mine pales in comparisson to Tom's. Wow! I do have a couple on vinyl that are framed in my home. So is a concert flyer. Again, not as lucky to have original Peter art framed in my home (as I know some on this site have), but I'm trying to keep up.

Dave.. thanks for the question. I love reliving the memories! I miss Madison AND Peter!

Eager for a new album...
Suzanne
